Who We Are
Syracuse University's Office of Community Engagement serves as a platform connecting the City of Syracuse and Central New York with the University's skills and resources for mutual benefit. We focus on achieving sustainable community impact through:
Student engagement: Creating opportunities for student volunteering and mentorship which produce valued student experiences and positively contribute to community organizations.
Community engagement: Strengthening the community by using capabilities within the University to enhance or deliver programs involving education and youth development, civic engagement and economic impact.
Events
Spring 2024 Program: Thursday Morning Roundtable
This weekly civic engagement program features experts speaking on local, state and national issues of concern to the Central New York community. The Thursday morning meetings, held during the academic year, feature:
- a presentation about an issue or topic of general interest, and
- a question-and-answer session led by the speaker
WCNY-FM (91.3) broadcasts the programs the following Sunday at 8 p.m.
